Johnny’s Testimomy

My name is Johnny Hampton I’m 37 years old. I have been in and out of addiction since I was 14. My parents divorced when I was 2 years old. I went to live with my mother who later met my stepdad who was an alcoholic and a meth addict. When I was 15 I would start using and cooking meth with him. It took me down a long road of addiction. on December 21, 2011 God blessed me with a beautiful daughter. I would try off and on to quit using meth but never could. In 2013 I was convicted for manufacturing meth and got a 12-year sentence. After going to prison I realized that I hit rock bottom. I knew that I had to change my life. While in prison I attended a residence encounter Christ program. That’s when I asked Jesus Christ to be in my life. I took a really good look at myself and started focusing on what I wanted to become in life. Jesus Christ started working on me I started reading my Bible and applying it to my life. I knew that if I ever wanted to do any good I had to change my people places and things. while I was in prison I reached out to friends of sinners in Owensboro Kentucky. God had put it on my heart to go this direction. I knew that I needed to be around some godly men to help me build my foundation around Christ. in 2018 I was released from prison and I went straight to friends of sinners. it was the best decision I ever made in my life. My whole life has changed. I have been so blessed I have met some amazing people who truly care about my life and where it’s headed. God has restored my relationship with my daughter I have an amazing job. I just recently hit my 2 year Mark of sobriety. I attend church at Matthews Table. But without Christ none of this would be possible. I can truly say that God has changed my life. I just want to thank God for the path he is putting me on and it’s been amazing.
